Point and click to create a feedback comment sheet. Essay Grader is not automatic grading software, but it will allow you to grade much faster and better than ever before. With version 2.1, every aspect of Essay Grader is fully editable making the program perfect for grading written work, performances, group projects, and speeches in any discipline. By moving back and forth between a series of tabs and clicking on the appropriate comment fields, a feedback document is created for each essay you grade. The comment sheet can either be emailed directly to the student or exported for editing and printing.
Essay Grader comes with three unique banks of pre-written comments for a multitude of topics within the categories of praise, organization, content, mechanics, style, and documentation. All comments are fully editable, and Essay Grader comes with three empty banks where you can write entirely original comments of your own.
The first and last paragraphs of the feedback document are optional free-write paragraphs where you have the ability to personalize each student’s feedback sheet. Essay Grader helps you avoid writing the same comments over and over again by hand and gives you the ability to provide more targeted and more comprehensive feedback than you can with a red pen. When you finish choosing the appropriate comments, simply assign a holistic grade on the “Grade” tab, and that grade will appear at the bottom of the student’s feedback sheet.

Mac OSX (2.1) Screenshots
Click on the error type to automatically insert a comment regarding that error into the student’s feedback sheet. Roll your mouse over the comment label to reveal the text of the actual comment. Essay Grader comes with three unique comments for every error type and three blank comment banks for users to write their own custom comments.
All portions of the program interface can be edited in “Edit Mode.” Here users can edit comment text, comment labels, category labels, and tab labels. In edit mode, users can add entirely new additional comments of their own.
iPad (2.0) Screenshots
On the iPad, simply touch the comment check box to add that comment to the student’s feedback sheet. Roll your finger over the comment label to see the actual text of the comment.
Customize each student’s feedback sheet with opening and closing free-write paragraphs.
All comments and labels are fully editable by entering “Edit Mode.” From here, users can even add entirely new comments of their own.
On the “Grade” tab, assign each essay with a holistic grade, and that grade will appear at the bottom of the feedback sheet.
The “List” screen displays all of the essays you have graded. From this screen you can email the feedback sheet directly to the student, return to selected students to make changes, or view and read the actual feedback sheet.
You can easily view each student’s feedback sheet before you email it or export it to your computer. If you find portions you would like to change, simply return to that student’s file and make the desired changes.
In the iPad version, there are three ways to export the documents:
1. Email the feedback sheet directly to the student.
2. Email all feedback sheets to yourself.
3. Plug your iPad into iTunes and use iTunes file sharing to easily export the documents to your computer.
